To New Memories! by Farida Khan

Hello Beautiful People!

I know I haven't been very active on my blog but I am hoping to change that soon. As a student in a foreign country, I travel as much as possible; whether its to explore the country I study in (U.K), places I visit during vacations or just trips back home to India; and there are always so many stories to be told.

I have attempted to capture moments through photography, but am now going to explore what writing about such experiences feels like too! I now have the perfect opportunity as I will be travelling around Morocco for 2 weeks with a friend and can't wait to share my travels with everyone!

More than a travel blog, This series is probably going to be something like a journal or a diary, but I am incredibly excited about it. Soooo many adventures to be had and a gazillion memories to be made!

Wishing everyone itchy feet too... Just not the wrong kind!

The Lighthouse by Farida Khan

Visiting a new place is all about new experiences; the different cultures, the exotic cuisines and immersing yourself in the essence of the place. I visited Mauritius for my winter-break and it was abso-frickin-lutely amazing! I love travelling, therefore ticking another place off my list was really exciting for me. The people were warm and welcoming just like the weather and I loved every moment that I was there!

One experience that really stands out however, is getting to the top of an isolated light-house. Initially, I was really hesitant about getting to the top as there were a set of steep winding staircases, a lot of enclosed spaces and my super-clumsy self involved. But after a little persuasion from my family I decided to just go ahead without really thinking about it. I swear, there were times I thought I would pass out because of the heat and such a tight space within the structure and was mentally cursing myself... that was until I got to the top of course.

I kid you not, the view from the top was breathtaking! You know how everyone is always saying that somethings are worth the climb? Yeah, I never understood it (Partly because I would take an elevator to a staircase ANYDAY)... till that moment. There was a carpet of aquamarine and blue for as far as the eye could see and the sun gleaming down on it made everything come alive. It's moments like these that make putting in that extra bit of effort, so totally worth it.
